Based in Newark, NJ, BCPAC is a community-drive organization dedicated to making high quality theater, music, and dance accessible, affordable and deeply rooted in our city. Whether you are stepping onto the stage for the first time, dusting off an instrument you haven't played in years, or looking for affordable front-row seats to high quality community talent, there is a place for you here.

What We Do: Our Model

BCPAC bridges the gap between raw local talent and the professional stage. We operate through three color pillars of access:
Perform and Participate: By hosting inclusive, community-based ensembles for adults and youth to competitive groups and audition based theater performances, we provide the space, guidance, and support for residents to create art actively.
Experience & Enjoy: We believe ticket prices should never keep anyone from enjoyin live culture. We offer free performances, "pay-what-you-can" pricing structures, donation based giving, and low-cost admission across different events and productions.
Educate an Empower: Our goal is to deliver structure programs for youth, summer intesives, and hands on training to prepare Newark's next generation of creative leaders.
Future Vision
Future Vision
Our long-term goal is the development of a permanent flagship facility in Newark.
Featuring a front-facing commercial coffee shop (Creative Grounds), this place will serve as a daily gathering space and performing arts center with a main stage theater, black box theater, multiple individual studios and rehearsal spaces which are all accessible to the public and available to reserve and rent. This will also lead to proper integration of our future educational initiatives.
BCPAC is a registered non-profit 501(c)(3) that is governed by a dedicated Board of Trustees and is led by Newark educator and founder Douglas Brunner. We are built by the people of Newark, for the people of Newark.
